Weather
We were there for 11 days from the 18th to the 29th of December and we were able to go onto the beach every day. There was one day of light rain but only in the morning.
The temperature went from 65 degrees Fahrenheit to 75, which was just perfect for the kids who were 10 years old and 2 years old.
Holiday
Beach is superb - golden sands and rock pools ripe for exploration. The cafes and restaurants were superb and very welcoming to families.
Very chilled, very peaceful and a wonderful way to spend the christmas holidays.
Armacao de Pera is a fantastic family holiday village which I highly recommend.
We rented a beautiful 2 bedroom luxury apartment directly from the owners which was perfect for us.
Places Recommended
A Grelha which is a traditional Portuguese restaurant in Arm de Pera.Toscana, a beautiful little cafe that does fab cakes, toasties, snacks and coffees.
Pedro's beach bar. Silves - spectacular castle, museum, great shops and Fabrico do Ingles.
Laqoa - Slide and Splash (10 mins drive)
Zoomarine - great day out for kids (10 mins drive)
Lisbon - 2.5 hour drive, Seville - 2 hour drive. Pera - International Sand Festival
Arm de Pera is a great place for relaxing in and exploring around. It is also a great little base to explore the rest of Portugal and easy access to Spain.
