There are two bars in Seville, with one just opposite Seville Cathedral and the other at Plaza de la Alfalfa.

Things to do in Seville in August

Seville is bursting with activities for tourists, however, it's common for siestas to occur at this time of year. Most shops close for a few hours at midday and early afternoon when the hottest temperatures take place.  

Museo del Baile Flamenco

If you want to cool off from the heat then there are many museums to explore in the city. The Museo del Baile Flamenco showcases the history of flamenco dancing, with regular classes also taking place.

Metropol Parasol

Alternatively, opt for the Metropol Parasol. What is said to be the largest wooden building in the world, this museum/gallery was established in 2011 and features a restaurant, concert hall, panoramic views of the city and striking architecture. Bound to divide opinion, it's an interesting look at modern construction within Seville.

August is fiesta season in Spain and there are many to choose from.
 
The Fiestas Colombinas, held around 3rd of August is held in the nearby town of Huelva and celebrates Latin dance and music. In the third week of August, there is the Fiesta de la Exaltacion del Rio Guadalquivir, which includes horse racing along the Sanlucar de Barrameda beaches.
