While still a wonderful time to visit Sa Coma, autumn begins to truly set in during this time of the year as temperatures begin to cool both on land and on sea. October is also a wetter month as the wettest time for the region is just around the corner. This month may also be the last time for visitors to have access to all hotels and restaurants before some may close for the winter season.

Temperature

The average daily temperature for this month is a cool 18°C (64°F). This is cool enough for visitors to need to consult an extended forecast to make sure they have packed the correct items. While significantly cooler than the previous month, when combined with nice sea breezes, highs such as these are nearly perfect.

Cala S'Almonia

October is the last month of the year in which to enjoy the local beaches as sea surface temperatures begin to cool off rapidly. While the average sea temperature this time of the year is 22°C (72°F), it is best to hit the beach early in the month. Just down from Sa Coma is Cala S'Almonia with its crystal clear water and beautiful views. Popular with the locals, it is great spot for swimming and snorkelling.

Visitors will have to descend 120 steps to reach the beach, so it may not be the best for those with small children or the elderly. However, it is still a beautiful spot to stop and take some pictures while enjoying the view.

One of the best and most popular places to stop for a drink and a small bite to eat in Sa Coma is 57 Pub Mallorca. As a great place to see and be seen, the bar has a wide selection of spirits and the bartenders know how to mix up a great drink. The restaurant is perfect for those out as a couple or with a group of friends. With good prices, guests can also stay for a while and enjoy more than one drink.

Cafeteria Picnic

Located right on the beach, Cafeteria Picnic has guests coming back time and time again. With a great view of the water as well as good food and a great staff, there is a lot to like about this restaurant. Things to do in Sa Coma in October

Palma Aquarium

With October being the wettest month of the year, now may be a good time to stay indoors. One of the best indoor spots on the island is a short drive from Sa Coma and is the Palma Aquarium. Home to some 8,000 animals from 700 different species, a visit to the aquarium is the perfect family outing. The aquarium holds a total of 5 million litres of salt water and is something everyone should see.

Joan Miro

If the weather is nice, while in Palma take a few hours to visit the studio of Joan Miro, a Catalan painter, sculptor and ceramicist. Guests can see the studio exactly as it was left and also enjoy the stunning land and sea views. There are also gardens to explore as well as a café on site.
