January is the coldest month of the year in Puglia, the most southeastern region in Italy. San Nicola Basilica
Another major architectural highlight is the San Nicola Basilica, situated in the heart of the historic city centre of Bari. Founded in the 11th century, this striking church has become a popular pilgrim's destination.
