Sorted by popularity:

What's The Weather Like In Puglia In June

The summer season kicks off in Puglia in June. Although the majority of tourists won't arrive until July, the great summer weather does start now. This is why June is probably one of the best periods to visit Apulia, as the region is better known in English. September is another excellent month to visit because of the great weather and absence of many tourists. This is an amazing time of year for pretty much all activities, from lazing on a sandy beach to hiking in the hills and sampling local cuisine on a restaurant's outside terrace.

Rain

June is the driest month of the year in Puglia. There is no more than 14mm of rainfall in total and there are no more than 4 days with some kind of rainfall. This, of course, means that there are no fewer than 26 days without any rainfall whatsoever! The likelihood that rainfall occurs decreases in the course of June, from 26% in the beginning to 19% toward the end. Now, the most common type of rainfall is thunderstorms. They occur on 44% of the days with rainfall, of which there aren't all too many. Moderate rain is observed on 34% of those days. Light rain may fall as well, but is far less likely.

Sunshine Hours

Cloud cover decreases drastically as well. While the first days of the month have a cloud cover of 33%, the end of the month is characterised by 17% of cloud cover. At the end of June, you can expect mostly clear skies no less than 76% of the time.

June is also the "longest" month of the yearn terms of day light, that is. June 20 is the longest day of the entire year with 15.08 hours of daylight. The other days in the month are only a little bit shorter.

These previous two factors are why June is one of the sunniest months of the year in Puglia. There are 9 hours of sunshine per day on average, the same as in August and only one hour fewer than the annual maximum of 10 hours in July.

Temperature

Additionally, June is one of the warmest months, too. The average temperature is 22°Cnly July and August are warmer. In the afternoon, you can enjoy high temperatures that average 26°C. At night, the temperature averages no less than 17°C.

The city of Bari is one of the region's main urban centres, a historic city filled with architectural highlights, great eateries and fascinating museums. One particularly recommended attraction is the Teatro Petruzzelli, which is without question Puglia's most prestigious cultural building. This is the fourth largest theatre building in Italy and, moreover, the largest private theatre in all of Europe. Located in Bari's Murat district, this spectacular building can host 1,500 visitors.
