February is the last real winter month in Puglia, Italy's most southeastern region, the so-called "heel" of the "boot" that is Italy. Although it may be winter now, that doesn't mean it gets particularly cold or wet. This is a wonderful destination to spend a couple of weeks in winter, when more northerly places in Europe are blasted with rain or snow and covered with a blanket of clouds.

The probability that precipitation occurs is quite stable throughout the month and ranges around 41%. There is, however, a slight decrease at the end of the month. Snow is observed on about 5% of the days with precipitation and is nothing to worry about.

    Sunshine Hours

February is equally as sunny as January was, having about 4 hours of sunshine per day on average. This relatively low number is due to the, also relatively, high percentage of cloud cover this month. Cloud cover is about 58% and doesn't fluctuate much. This means that the sky is typically partly cloudy this time of year. A positive influence on the amount of sunshine, which is noticed toward the end of the month, is the increase in day length. There is a total increase in day length of 1.10 hours in the course the month, meaning that each day is 2.4 minutes longer than the day before.
