Located on the south west coast of Majorca, Magaluf is the party capital of the island. This fun and lively resort is a popular holiday resort for those looking to escape the British weather and have a good time in the sun. Thanks to its location, the weather is typically Mediterranean, which means that summers are hot and sunny and winters and mild.

March is heating up in Magaluf, but not to its full summertime temperatures, by any means. However, while tourists probably won't be sunning themselves on the beach all day, they will find plenty of other fun, relaxing, or wild activities to keep them entertained at this time of year and they may even see some sunshine.

As spring arrives, the average temperature is around 11°C, which is 2 degrees warmer than the month before. High temperatures can reach up to 17°C but nights still get quite chilly in the resort, falling to just 5°C. Visitors who want to head out on an evening may want to pack some warm layers, but a light jacket or long sleeves will probably suffice.

The average sea temperature also stays low during March. At just 15°C at the start of spring, the water is likely too cold for most tourists. Spending time on the beach, though, can still be enjoyable with plenty of bright, sunny days. Sunshine continues to increase as spring arrives, with 8 sunny hours a day and a 67% chance of a sunny day.

Rainfall levels stay quite consistent throughout the winter and spring months in Magaluf, and March sees just slightly more rainfall than February. On average, there's 36mm of rainfall which is spread over 12 wet days, so visitors can expect light drizzle and a few short showers throughout their stay. However, when it's not raining, there's only a 9% chance of a cloudy day, which means that holiday makers can enjoy bright, clear skies without much overcast weather.

While the great summer weather hasn't yet arrived, March is a good time to visit Magaluf if you want to avoid the peak season crowds and don't mind cooler temperatures.

Many people travelling to Magaluf are drawn to the resort's famous nightlife, so it makes sense to stay close to the action. Luckily, there are plenty of ideally located hotels such as the Sol House Trinidad hotel. This four-star hotel is within walking distance to everything you could need: the beach, the strip, the water park, a supermarket and many restaurants. Although there are many party-crowd guests here, it is still a fine choice for couples or families.

Another great accommodation option for any traveller is Hotel Samos, a three-star hotel located in the heart of Magaluf. This large and contemporary hotel sits close to the beach and is surrounded by restaurants and bars. The rooms here are some of the most stylish and comfortable you'll find in the resort and are fully equipped with private bathrooms, TVs and heating and air conditioning.

Alternatively, if you're looking for a more peaceful stay but still want easy access to Magaluf's attractions, why not book accommodation in the nearby resort of Palma Nova? Viva Palma Nova Hotel and Spa is one of the best rated hotels in the resort and is especially great for families, with a range of kid's facilities. There's a large outdoor pool, a kid's club and a playground, while adults can enjoy in the adult-only pool or chill out in the spa and sauna. All-inclusive dining is available here.

For those who want to party or those who love music, Alex's Bar is the place to be. This venue is actually a cluster of three bars that offers something for everyone; there's Alex's Indie, Alex's R&B and Alex's Lounge which plays the latest house music. Located in the centre of the strip just a stone's throw from the beach, this bar is amid all the action.

After a few drinks, late night revellers can dance the night away at one of Magaluf's many clubs. Tokio Joe's is located at one end of the strip and is a great place to end a night with resident DJs, dancers, a huge choice of drinks and a vibrant atmosphere.

Finally, while there are many restaurants catering to the typically English palate in Magaluf, it is still possible to find some authentic Spanish cuisine in the resort. Pardo's is a Mediterranean restaurant located close to the beach that's known for serving the best paella in the area. If you love seafood, it's definitely worth a try.

Whilst the weather is still a tad chilly for enjoying the nearby beaches, Magaluf does offer many other attractions to enjoy in the early spring. One of the most famous (or infamous) tourist attractions of the resort is the Magaluf Bar Pub Crawl. This nightlong bar hopping excursion begins at one end of the strip and then meanders its way down the row of exciting bars and clubs and finally wraps up at one of the area's superb nightclubs for dancing. This is a fun way for young travellers to spend an evening and a great way to meet new people on your vacation.

For a more family-friendly activity, horseback riding is an ideal way to spend a day. Head to Circolo Ippico Palmanova, just a few kilometres from the resort, where you can ride horses through the beautiful countryside. Experienced horse riders and beginners are both welcome.
