Lyon Weather June Averages, France
Lyon is a city filled with museums, interesting architecture and Bouchons (restaurants serving traditional Lyonnaise cuisine). It's also a great city from which to base a holiday whilst exploring other parts of France because it can be cheaper to stay there as opposed to Paris and other cities.
In July, tourists can expect an average temperature high of 27° (81°F). It can be quite warm so it's advisable to bring light clothing.
In the evenings, the temperature can fall to around 15°C (59°F) and a sweater or light jacket may be needed to keep comfortable.
Precipitation in July is slightly less than that of June at 56mm or just a little more than 2 inches of accumulation. On average, it will rain on 9 or 10 days of the month but the showers don't usually last long. Visitors will be able to enjoy nearly 11 hours of sunshine per day.
A must-see is Gite-Loutarde, located in the Old Lyon. This part of the city has lots of old buildings, stairs, narrow roads, and Bouchons.
One of the biggest tourist draws in Lyon is its many museums. There is a great deal of culturally and historically important landmarks and many of those are museums such as the Musee de la Civilisation Gallo-Romaine (Museum of Gallo-Roman Civilization). Visitors will learn about the Roman presence and past history through many displays and artefacts such as weapons, artworks and coins.
For visitors on a short holiday, the Ibis Lyon Centre Perrache offers practical rooms at a reasonable price along with a relatively convenient location. Amenities include a standard free Wi-Fi service, suites with coffee/tea service, room service and a bar/lounge area. Unusually, they allow pets too!
The famous Brasserie Georges restaurant is just next door and guests are advised to have at least one meal there during their stay.
