The average nighttime low temperature in April is 24°C and the average daytime high is 34°C, both temperatures that are the highest of the year. Neither of them vary much in the course of the month.

April is the beginning of the rainy season, and although it's not most holiday-makers ideal weather, it is what helps make Thailand so lush and beautiful. Rain often occurs in the afternoon—perfect siesta time. Rainfall is about 169mm in total in March, a huge increase compared with the 91mm total of March, but still much less than the 256mm that May gets. In terms of total precipitation, April is the fifth-driest month of the year.
The chance that rainfall occurs varies in the course of the month. Rainfall is least likely on April 1 (64%) and most likely toward the end of the month (72%). By far the most common type of precipitation in April is thunderstorms—they happen on 79% of the days with rainfall. Other possible types are light rain and moderate rain, occurring respectively on 15% and 6% of the rainy days.
Just like the previous months and the months to come, cloud cover is essentially constant throughout the month and stays around 90%, which means that it is mostly cloudy for most of the month.
Another something that remains pretty much constant in the course of the month is the length of the days. April 30 is only 9 minutes longer than April 1—they respectively have 12.20 and 12.11 hours of daylight. The average April day has 9 hours of sunshine, which is the maximum amount of sunshine hours in the year. This maximum is also observed in March, May and June.
