The largest island of the Cayman Islands features temperatures between 26C (78.8F) and 31C (87.8F) throughout the month. Daily high temperatures rarely drop below 30C (86F) or rise over 32C (89.6F). As for daily lows, they tend to vary between 25C (77F) and 28C (82.4F), seldom to a larger extent. Albeit daily high temperatures in Cuba (Havana) are similar to this island, minimum daily temperatures are lower.

The period of the day when it is hot gets shorter at a slow rate in the course of the month. At the beginning of the month, the heat usually takes place between 9 am and 7 pm. By the end of the month, prepare to contend with the heat from around 10 am until 6 pm.

On average, a hurricane or a tropical storm, which is a weaker storm, hits the Cayman Islands every 20 months. More so, the last hurricane that inflicted big damage to Grand Cayman happened in 2004.

Because of the nearness of the zone where North American and Caribbean tectonic plates meet, the islands are susceptible to earthquakes and, consequently, tsunamis.
