September starts off with plenty of sun, a nonexistent chance of rain, and an average daily temperature of 23.5°C (74°F), before cooling off to an average of 22°C (72°F), with a slight increase in rain during the middle of the month.

The end of September is still warm, but temperatures continue to drop, to a daily average of 20°C (68°F), and the chance of rain albeit still minimal increases. The first week of September (1st- 8th) bring the hottest days of the month, with the average high being 28°C (82°F) and an average low of 19°C (66°F). The last day of September is generally the coldest, with an average high of 24°C (75°F) and an average low of 16°C (61°F).

Average Sunshine Hours

With summer coming to an end, the days are also getting shorter, and thus less time when the sun is out. Still, September averages 10 hours a day of sunshine, and it also rarely rains this month.

Rain

The average rainfall is just 15mm (0.6 inches), spread out over only four days. It's likely that you won't experience rain at all during your visit, and if you do, it will be one, quick thunderstorm.

Average Sea Temperature

The days might be getting shorter, but the temperature of the sea is still very warm. The average sea temperature for September is 23°C (73°F), which is comfortable water to swim in for just about everyone. Because of the warm water, the beaches are still popular in September, but not as crowded during the warmest months of the year (July/August).

Humidity

The humidity levels start to rise this month, with the average level being about 65%. You can start to feel the humidity at this point, but it is almost unnoticeable and should not affect your comfort.

Fuengirola Hotels in September

Ronda 4 Apartments is family-run and is located just off of the beach. They offer studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartment style rooms. All rooms offer air-conditioning and most come with sea-views. They have two cafeterias, a restaurant, and a supermarket in case you want to cook for yourself. The hotel also has a pool with views of the sea, and with the beach just 30 meters away, they offer sunbeds and umbrellas for rent. They are about an eight minute drive to the city centre.

Hotel Reyesol is a two-star hotel that has 53 rooms, 12 of which come with double beds, and the remaining 41 rooms have two single beds. It is an ideal hotel to stay at for singles. As the hotel is located in the city centre, the rooms do not have sea-views, although some come with private terraces or balconies, but they do all have air-conditioning/heating. The hotel has a restaurant on-site that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Fuengirola Beach for September

Fuengirola has several options for the beach, as there is an eight kilometer (5 mile) area of sand used just for beaches. Perhaps the best known beach is Los Boliches. The water off of this beach is calm and the sand is of a fine, dark variety. There are also plenty of necessary amenities, like showers and beach chairs.

The beach is quite large (1,550 meters/5085 feet in length and 40-50 meters/131-164 feet in width) and can be enjoyable for a nice stroll. Centrally located, there are plenty of restaurants nearby as well, such as Café Fresco. This café offers organic food and salads, as well as fresh juices, soups, desserts, and coffees. They serve breakfast and lunch and are open until 4 PM every day except Sundays. For a quick drink nearby, checkout Tom's Irish Bar. They focus on serving pints (as the name would suggest) and also are a good spot for checking out live sports.

Bars and Restaurants

If you'd prefer food that is a bit less "local," try Taxi-Angus Burger. This restaurant specializes in American style hamburgers made from 100% beef and are usually accompanied by fries cooked in a few different manners. The décor is familiar to a place you would find in Southern California, with a kind of "diner" feel to it. Be sure to save room for dessert as they also serve milkshakes, cakes, and cookies. They are located about a five minute walk from the city centre.
