January is the coldest month of the year in Dalyan, Turkey, but it can still be a good time to visit. Even though it is chilly, temperatures remain well above freezing and there is no chance of snow thanks to the moderating effects of the nearby Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, the cooler temperatures mean many tourists stay at home so there is a shorter wait for restaurants as well as the most popular attractions.

The average daily temperature for the region in the month is a cool 9°C (47°F). The average high temperature is 13°C (55°F) and with an average low temperature of 4°C (39°F). As a result, visitors will need to pack some sweaters as well as jackets to keep warm, especially in the evening hours when temperatures will drop quickly.

Cool temperatures can also be found in the sea as well as on land. Sea temperatures during this time of the year make it too chilly to enjoy the various water sports, but visitors can take advantage of the beaches themselves. Water temperatures during the month average a cool 17°C (63°F).

This month is the third wettest of the year with an approximate 83mm of precipitation expected. With cool temperatures, vacationers can expect to run into a cold rain every now and then making it important to bring seasonal rain gear. It will also be important to consult an extended forecast before leaving home. However, the entire month is not a washout. On average, 14 days of the month will see some measurable precipitation making just over half of the month dry.

Even with the additional clouds and rainfall, visitors can still expect to see some sunny conditions while on holiday. On average, the region receives 7 hours of sunshine each day. This is plenty to explore what the area has to offer.
