For your stay in Cork you can choose from several moderately priced accommodations.   Two examples are:

The Metropole, which is a 3-star hotel located in the city centre and dates from the year 1890.  It has a sauna and a swimming pool and offers bed and breakfast accommodations at moderate prices.

The Clarion Hotel Cork affords an excellent view of the river. It offers a health spapool and 2 great restaurants

In January you may visit the Cork Public Museum, situated in Fitzgerald's Park and has proudly displayed Cork's History since 1910. After your museum visit, take a stroll through the gardens and continue with a walk beside the River Lee. Even in January the park boasts colourful foliage.

A pleasant winter outing could include the English Market. This is one of the oldest markets in Cork and a main shopping venue. It is located in an enclosed area and offers an abundance of fresh produce. French soaps, spices and fragrant lavender can be found as well.

St. Fin Barre's Cathedral, with its triple spires is a striking example of French-Gothic architecture.  You will be impressed by its fine rose window, mosaic pavement and elaborate carvings.
