What's The Weather Like In Varadero In September?
Rain
September in Cuba is in the hottest and wettest season and the high humidity can be uncomfortable. The higher temperatures and the higher rainfall sees the humidity soar during the day. It is also the cyclone season when the seas can be whipped up to a dangerous level and the winds are strong.
The average rainfall is 30mm that will fall over 13 to 15 days. This will increase towards the end of the month when October has the highest rainfall of 40mm before it starts to ease into November. Even though it is cyclone season, you have plenty of warning of these coming so you won't get caught out in one as long as you heed the weather warnings.
Temperature
This is the hottest month in Varadero and the average temperature is 27°C between the average high/low temperatures of 22°C and 31°C remembering that temperatures can get higher than 31°C on some days during this month and October. Nights will be warm and humid this month with lows of 23°C but as many resorts are air conditioned it won't be too much of a problem.
Humidity
The increased rainfall and higher temperatures will push the average humidity to a high of 85%, but it will get higher with heavier rainfall in October.
Sea Temperature
The ocean is still lovely and warm if you want to go swimming with an average sea temperature of 29°C just one degree down from the August high of 30°C. This will continue to fall now to the low of 24°C that still makes for a pleasant swim in February.
Sunshine Hours
Sunshine hours have increased back up to 9 hours and will drop slightly for next month due to the higher rainfall and rick of cyclones.
Fog
Foggy days are continuing to decrease from the high of 22 seen in March and you should expect around 19 foggy days in September and this will continue to drop to the end of the year.

The pasta is all made in the restaurant and portions are on the generous side. With a relaxed atmosphere and live music this is ideal for a quiet romantic meal in a beautiful setting.
Things To Do In Varadero In September
Cayo Piedra Underwater Marine Park
One place for divers to visit is the Cayo Piedra Underwater Marine Park located just to the north east of Varadero and the beach. Several planes, frigates and boats have been purposely sunk here to create an artificial reef for the marine life to call home. There are hundreds of fish, coral and sponges as well as larger marine life to see.
Night Life
For the lovers of the night life and a change from the beach activities check out what is offer at night in and Varadero. Cabaret style shows are the most popular with scantily male and female dancers swinging to the great Cuban rhythms. The biggest show is at the Tropicana Matanzas, 20 minutes from Varadero or try the Cabaret Continental at Varadero Internacional, Mambo Club, Palacio de La Rumba at the Gran Hotel or the new Casa de La Musica on the Avenida Playa. This last one is open from 10:30pm with a show then a disco afterwards til the early hours from Tuesday to Sunday.
Horse Riding in Cuba
The horse lover is not left out in Cuba as there are many ranches that you can go riding through. Horse Riding in Cuba gives you the chance to see beyond the beaches and the surf but you can also ride along Varadero Beach for as little as 15 Pesos. There are people with horses walking up and down the beach that you can approach for a gallop along the white sand and in the edge of the waves. The horse ranches have horses for the entire family with small and quiet horses for the children and beginners as well as horses for the more experienced rider.
