What's the Weather like in San Agustin in January
If you decide to spend a January winter holiday in the island resort town of San Agustin, you can expect mild-to-warm temperatures all through the month. It should be a fantastic escape from many of the climates of locales elsewhere in the world.
Temperature
The average temperature for the month is a comfortable 19°C.
Exceptionally, this average temperature remains unchanged until July, a month that sees an average temperature of 20°C, which shares the annual high average temperature with the proceeding two months. This fact highlights the incredibly consistent and beautiful weather of the island town year round.
The temperatures through the month can rise as high as 24°C at the sunny midday peak, and drop as low as 13°C during a cool, overcast night. Night time winds can be gusty and vacationers will want to pack warm layers for venturing out after dark.
Rainfall
While there is never a bad time to visit the island, plan your trip in July or August if you prefer to avoid rain at all costs. January is the second rainiest month on record with an average rainfall of 27mm accumulated across eight days of rain.
This is a relatively mild amount of rainfall compared to other resorts throughout the Canary Islands. Located on the sunny southeast coast of Gran Canaria, this resort receives eight sunshine hours per day, rivalling only six sunshine hours on the sister island of Tenerife. Based on averages, Tenerife expects 43mm of rainfall during the month, making San Agustin the drier choice of the two.
Average Sea Temperature
Plan for brisk ocean temperatures during the month. With ocean waters registering at 19°C on average most vacationers will be uncomfortably chilled by anything more than a brief dip in the sea. Pack swim attire, but expect to utilize the pool at your accommodation for long stays in the water.
