Praia do Cabedelo

If you stay close to the city, you might as well enjoy some of the beaches that Foz do Douro has to offer. It's split over two floors and plays a wicked mixture of rock music, usually bringing some live bands in the mix. This spot actually saw the likes of Massive Attack, the Pixies, Placebo and Radiohead perform here before they went on to conquer the entire world!

September is quite a good time to take in all the scenery from the surrounding parts of Porto, its dramatic hillsides perfect for long bike rides and even trekking expeditions. Se Cathedral
You certainly have to see the stunning Sé Cathedral, a splendid Romanesque cathedral built in the early 12th century, and constantly hailed by the Tripeiros as one of their city's most precious jewels. Its façade resembles that of a fortress, but its interior is absolutely breath taking, with mindboggling detail in every single piece of religious art mounted in here. Another must see is the beautiful Sao Bento Station, designed with superb glazed tile artwork all over the walls. It was named after an old Benedictine monastery once built on this very spot, and to this day it has remained one of Porto's postcard buildings.
