Palma Nova Weather January Averages, Spain
Palma Nova is a resort town found on Majorca, which is one of the Spanish Balearic Islands on the eastern coast of Spain. Palma Nova is a popular place to have fun and relax, and was purposefully built for just that back in the 1960's. The region has thinner crowds in January. This is generally because the weather is cooler and wetter at this time of the year and the main tourism season doesn't start as a result until May.
January 1 is the shortest day with 9:25 hours, and January 31 is the longest with 10:08 hours. The sun rises around 8AM and sets around 5:45PM. The air is mildly humid or very humid, rarely dropping below 46%, and is drier as the month progresses. The wind blows up to 6 m/s, usually from the southwest or northeast.
The skies above Palma Nova are mostly clear, with some clouds around 25% of the month. Chance of precipitation is around 36%, and is most likely to occur around the third or fourth week as moderate rain.
Over the course of January, temperatures stay relatively the same, while the days are gradually growing drier and longer, though the weather is in general still cool. Visitors are advised to pack some warmer clothing for trips taken to Palma Nova in January. It is always wise to check local weather forecasts before arrival, as well.

Palma Nova remains busy even in the winter time, unlike many other resorts and destinations. Visitors may find that some of the bars may be closed, however there are numerous restaurants, shopping areas, and a casino open to cater to and make sure that those who visit at this time of the year will be well entertained.
In January one of the festivals that is most looked forward to, especially by the children, is Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos or the "Three Kings". It's a time of celebration of the three kings who were said to have visited the baby Jesus bearing the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. The locals celebrate by staging an elaborate parade with the 'Three Kings' riding on floats and tossing out sweets to the children in the streets.
Visitors can easily book excursions and tours across the island. Spend a languid afternoon sailing on a glass bottom boat off the coast of Mallorca. You can take a short bus to Marineland--a great visit for the kids--or check out the mysterious House of Katmandu. At the end of Magaluf are two water parks: Aqualand and the Wild Western World Water Park.
Mallorca markets are world-famous, and the best is the Thursday Inca Market, famed for its leather goods. You can take a cab or bus to visit the stalls and bring home some great souvenirs.
