Palma Nova Weather April Averages, Spain
Palma Nova is a resort town located in the municipality of Calvià found on the Island of Majorca. Visitors to Palma Nova in April will discover that it's not as busy as in the summer and as a result, some of the main tourist attractions, including the nightlife, may still be fairly quiet. In April, the temperature is just slightly warmer than March with the daytime high reaching 19°C (66°F). The water temperature is very cool in April at 16°C (61°F).
The air ranges from mildly humid to very humid, rarely dropping below 35%, and tends to be drier earlier in the month. Winds blow up to 7 m/s, usually from the southwest or northeast.
Over the course of April, Spring blossoms over Palma Nova. Days become longer and less humid, with frequent showers and partly cloudy skies.
Hotel Intertur Hawaii Mallorca (Calle Torrenova 1) is a popular all inclusive hotel that is located right on the beach. Affordable room prices and special deals mean you can stay here on a budget too. The resort caters chiefly to families and couples. All-inclusive or half-board plans are available. All rooms include a flatscreen TV, free wifi, A/C, heating, and safe. Some of the premium rooms also include a game system for the kids. A children's Miniclub is available for kids 4 to 12 years. Onsite facilities include pools, buffet-style restaurant, terrace, gym, and pool bar.
If you want to take advantage of the nearby attractions of Magaluf, the TRH Palmanova Hotel is located close to the strip in Magaluf. It's an ideal base for younger tourists who want to take full advantage of the nightlife.
The beaches of Palma Nova are just a short 15 km west of the airport. The sands tend to be quieter and more tranquil than those in Magaluf. Palma Nova has three beaches, all of which are family-friendly, with fine sand and crystal blue water. Alongside all beaches are restaurants, bars, and free car parking.
Playa de Son Maties is the main beach, with sunbeds, umbrellas and showers. This beach is a 600-metre stretch of fine sand, good for enjoying water activities like boating or windsurfing. Es Carregador is a small cove with a protected swimming spot. Here is where you can find all the bars and nightclubs. Playa Palma Nova is a nice middle ground, at 1 kilometre interspersed with small playgrounds. It's a great place for families and couples alike.
Castaways (Padeo Del Mar 58) offers a wide selection of food at an affordable price. The dishes are decent, ranging from BBQ to Yorkshire pudding and traditional pub grub.
Saffron Desi (Paseo del Mar 16) offers authentic Indian food, with flavourful and spiced dishes to order. Great recommendations from locals on the curries, jalfrezi, poppadoms and more.
Il Vicolo (Paseo del Mar 16) serves superb, authentic Italian food like pasta, bruschetta, and baked aubergine. The menu is limited but uncomplicated and freshly prepared. Part of the restaurant's charm lies in the rustic decor. A friendly stop on the seaside.
Since the water is still too cold for visitors to swim, it is advisable to perhaps hire a boat to take a day tour around the coasts of Majorca or try one of the glass-bottom boats and get an up close look at Palma Nova's marine life. Boat trips are available to various destinations and can be arranged at ticketing offices throughout the resort.
Families visiting with children should consider visiting the Pirates Adventure Show, which is a dinner theatre event that features an acrobatics type show that will be enjoyed by all. Dinner is served after the show and later in the evening, there is an 18+ only show that includes all you can drink sangria.
Visitors can also visit an upside down museum, called Katmandu. It's full of virtual science games with a garden and a restaurant where visitors can rest and have refreshments. There is also an informative film that is shown after the tour.
