Things to do in Mykonos in January

Theย Archaeological museumย is located in the prefecture of Kiklades and is open during winter months on Tuesday and Friday to Sunday from 8am to 3pm. Admission is free on Sundays during winter. Built in 1902 the museum houses the remains from the purification pit on the small island of Rhenia that had objects from as far back as 426BC. There are 4 main collections: pottery dating from the 25th century to the 1st century BC, clay figures from the 1st and 2nd century BC, Funerary statues and grave objects from the 1st and 2nd century BC and jewellery and other small pieces from the same time period. The museum houses very little from Mykonos itself but houses all the objects from Rhenia. This is fascinating way to spend a rainy or chilly day.
