What's Lanzarote Like At Christmas?
Lanzarote at Christmas has some of the warmest temperatures in Europe for the festive season.And while daily sunshine is almost guaranteed, there is a high chance of overcast days and the odd shower.

Jable Bermudas Apartments
For something a bit more budget-friendly, check out Jable Bermudas Apartments, located in the centre of Puerto del Carmen, just metres away from the nearest beach and close to loads of bars, restaurants and shops. This complex is comprised of spacious one-bedroom apartments on the ground and first floors the units on the first floor come with sea views. Each apartment comes complete with a kitchen with hob, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine, so you can cook all your own meals if you feel like it.
Free WiFi access is also provided throughout the resort, including in the guestrooms. Most of the resort's activity takes place around the pool area where you'll find one large swimming pool, one smaller children's pool, sunbathing terrace with loungers and parasols and pool bar which serves snacks and drinks throughout the day. Hotel Costa Calero is a top pick if you're looking for somewhere to spend a romantic Christmas holiday in Lanzarote. Located just steps away from the harbour in Yaiza, this four-star complex is best known for its superb 3,000m2 spa which covers indoor and outdoor areas. The spa is comprised of an indoor saltwater pool with waterfalls and water jets, Jacuzzi, hydromassage beds, bubble chairs, Roman baths with music therapy, saunas, indoor and outdoor relaxation zones with loungers and 24 wet and dry cabins for individual treatments.

During December, the strong swells around Lanzarote create immense waves which measure between 1.5m and 4m in height. El Reducto Beach
If you're not into surfing and only want to sunbathe and swim at the beach, spend the day at El Reducto Beach in Arrecife. This urban beach stretches on for around 500m and is widely regarded as the best one in the capital. The bay is made up of fine, golden sand and clear blue waters which are almost always calm enough for swimming in, making this beach perfect for families with little ones. There are no sun loungers or parasols available to hire here, but you will find showers, toilets, food and drink kiosks and plenty of bars, restaurants and supermarkets just steps away in the city.

If you're staying in Costa Teguise, definitely make reservations at Restaurante El Navarro. Voted as the very best restaurant in Lanzarote in 2015 by TripAdvisor, this eatery specialises in traditional Canarian dishes with exotic modern twists. The restaurant is family-run by the daughter of the original owner who works the front of house and her husband who takes care of the kitchen.
Because of their personal ties, the family make a special effort to ensure all the food which comes out the kitchen is first class and the service is second-to-none. Some of the most popular and interesting dishes include curried lamb croquettes, fillet steak with caramelised Dijon mustard dressing and the chilli chocolate brownie.
For something more exotic, pop into Asia Delicious. This oriental restaurant serves up a wealth of Chinese, Japanese and European dishes, with more than 100 different options to choose from. From classic starters of garlic bread, steamed mussels and chicken satay skewers to mains of crispy duck, sea bass teppanyaki and even pizza, this restaurant offers something for every type of diner no matter how fussy! Sushi and sashimi lovers will be in awe at their offering of dishes, which includes maki, rolls, nigari, temaki, tartar and standard sashimi.
Things to do in Lanzarote in December
If you're looking for somewhere with a lively atmosphere, check out Pueblo Marinero. This small neighbourhood is full of cafes, bars and restaurants, many of which offer lively entertainment on an evening. During the day each Wednesday and Friday, Pueblo Marinero hosts a craft market, with local artisans setting up stalls and selling all sorts of handmade goodies, such as clothes, accessories, soaps, handbags, jewellery and artwork. These gifts make perfect Christmas presents for family members and friends back home.
Museo Agrícola El Patio
If you're unlucky enough to get a rainy spell during your December holiday in Lanzarote, take shelter by popping into the Museo Agrícola El Patio.
