October Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

October sees a significant cooling in the weather in Lagos compared with peak summer temperatures. But with average temperatures still a beautiful 19°C throughout the month, the climate remains incredibly inviting in this part of Portugal.

Average lows of 16°C mean that night time temperatures do become a lot more comfortable at this time of the year. But it is still possible to enjoy a late night meal by the sea. Temperatures as high as 30°C have been recorded in the region during October. However average highs of 22°C are more likely to be the daily norm.

These wonderful temperatures ensure the sea remains just as welcoming in October and usually offer the same temperature as the average highs, 22°C, throughout the month. This means there are still a keen number of visitors to the beach on every fair day in October and a majority will go into the sea too.

The level of expected rainfall in Lagos does rise in October. But this is mainly due to the fact that it is so very dry in the region during the months that come before it. Especially in July and August.  During the month of October, an average of 10 days are likely to experience some sort of precipitation. But with an average of less than 60mm falling on any one of those days, there is isn't much chance of the rain spoiling those long, hot, beautiful days.

October boasts a very pleasant average of 9 hours of daily sunshine, which provides plenty of time to catch some late summer sun and enjoy some incredible sunsets. With added moisture in the air, humidity levels are expected to rise in October. But with levels of humidity only ever reaching approximately 78%, Lagos in October is simply beautiful.

The Casa Dos Cedros is a fantastic place to stay on a trip to Lagos. This wonderful little guesthouse has a beautiful outdoor pool area that provides the perfect opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy some October sun. The Jardim da Meia Praia luxury resort is situated directly on one of the most popular beaches in Lagos to provide the ultimate holiday destination. Though this hotel is nearly always fully booked during the peak season, when October arrives it is usually possible to find some vacancies. The grounds of the hotel are simply beautiful. Even on the colder days, the pool area is still a lovely place to sit. Or treat yourself to a townhouse with its own roof terrace and just enjoy the views. With the central town a nice walk or short taxi ride away, choose to stay for six days or six months. When you visit Jardim da Meia Praia you may never want to leave.

In the day the Lionheart is a really cosy little pub, and the perfect place to catch up on all the sport back home. But in the evening, this welcoming establishment comes to life, right in the heart of Lagos town. Good music, good prices and good cold drinks but it is never too busy for a good chat in October. Look out for karaoke nights and happy hour specials to make sure the Lionheart is a place no one ever forgets.

Situated just off of the main street, Bar Sola offers friendly service, great drinks and good night out for anyone. The bar staff are so accommodating, they will even let you choose the music that plays in the bar. And when that's not playing, live bands and karaoke provide traditional late night entertainment. The drinks are delicious and the prices are good. And in the day time, come back to sample some of their traditional pub grub. It's a great way to spend your holiday.

Most people discover Beats & Burritos through recommendation. Because when you've been here once, you'll want to tell the world about it. Freshly made burritos are the perfect lunch time snack when the October weather is warm. But if you need it to get a bit hotter, just ask for extra chilies. In the evenings the range of Mexican foods are as delicious as they are varied. And there's always a cool beer or a nice bottle of wine to wash it down with. Still full of life as Lagos moves into the cooler months, no one goes home hungry from Beats & Burritos.
