Hersonissos Weather August Averages, Greece
August is the high tourist season for Hersonissos, Crete, and the beaches and bars can sometimes get crowded. Things to do
Located 5km from Hersonissos is the Acqua Plus waterpark. Split into two sections, one for adults with large, high adrenaline slides, and the other for children, this waterpark is set in green gardens with lush foliage and is a pleasant place to spend a day, even for those not using the slides. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for people to wish to sunbathe, and there are lifeguards on duty, lockers for belongings and plenty to buy to eat and drink. A shuttle bus service is available from the town for a fee.
A great idea for a fun and exciting day out is sail boat hire. For those with a little experience this is a fantastic way to experience the beautiful Cretan coastline and explore the area. Renting a yacht may require a license so be sure to check requirements before planning this activity, or hire a skipper for the day to sail the yacht for you and spend the time relaxing.

The beach at Star beach has a waterpark as well as a great stretch of beach to relax and work on your tan. With beautiful white sand and blue sea, this is the perfect beach to take the whole family.
