There are a few beach shacks dotted on the beach which serve local food and cheap drinks, plus sun loungers and shades for diners, and you'll also find massage kiosks and yoga classes held along the coast. This beach is one of the best places from which to watch the sunset, so if you're planning to be there early evening, make sure you take your camera.

Green Woods Bar & Grill
For a top quality steak in Goa, it's tough to beat Green Woods Bar & Grill. Located in Candolim, this eatery serves up a selection of Indian cuisine, British cuisine, fresh fish and seafood, but the steaks are truly the highlight and come with a variety of different sauces. If you're in the area in the morning, definitely pop in for one of their full English breakfasts, served with British-style coffee. The drinks menu is typical of the area and features a small selection of local and imported beers, wines and spirits, alongside fresh fruit juices and cocktails.
Alex's Shack is one of the most popular beach shacks located on Candolim Beach. Here you'll find a great selection of local and international snack-style dishes, such as chicken kebabs, seafood noodles, Indian curries and grilled meats served at their weekly barbecue night. Sun loungers and shades are provided for guests during the day, plus group games and music on an evening. The drinks menu is large and features a selection of local and international beers and spirits, with freshly cocktails, fruit juices and milkshakes made to order.
Things to do in Goa in October
Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary
Animal lovers won't want to pass up the opportunity to visit the Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. Located on the western tip of Goa along the Mandovi River, this bird sanctuary is the only one in the resort and is home to a variety of migratory and local birds, as well as crocodiles, crabs, jackals and foxes. The birds and animals live in a natural mangrove ecosystem made up of mangrove scrub vegetation which you can walk through and water channels which you can canoe through. There is a watch tower within the sanctuary ideally positioned for bird watching, too.
The best time to visit the sanctuary is early morning which is when you'll see most of the wildlife and you either need to be part of a tour or have permission from the Chief Wildlife Warden of the Forest Department in Panaji to enter.
St Alex Church
The St Alex Church is the most famous landmark of Curtorim in Goa. Built in 1597, this church is one of the oldest in the resort and was constructed on the site of an ancient Hindu temple built in honour of Ravalnath a form of Lord Shiva. The remains of the original temple are still visible today, but most people travel to the church to admire the white exterior with traditional Portuguese features and to participate in the religious services which are occasionally held in English.
