March Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

In March, the weather begins to warm up in ParisFrance. The temperatures rise; there is more sun seen on a daily basis; and there is less chance of rain than in winter. It does still get cooler in the evenings, though, so make sure you wrap up warm if you're venturing out at night.

The average day temperature in March is 8°C, already significantly warmer than the 4°C average in February, but still much less than the 11°C that's recorded in April. March is the first month of the year that has daytime high temperatures in the two digitsn the afternoons, you can enjoy highs of 12°C. Nights are still cold, though, with lows averaging 4°C. Both daytime highs and nighttime lows increase in the course of the month. March 1 is the month's coldest day with 9°C in the afternoon and 2°C at night, while March 30 is the warmest day with a high of 13°C and a low of 5°C. Frost can still occur in March, but only on one day out of ten.

When it comes to total rainfall, March is the driest month of the year, having said that, its always good to plan ahead and check out the weather forecast. It receives 35mm of precipitation and has 12 days with rainfall. This number of 12 rainy days is the annual low; also observed in MayJune and July. The chance of experiencing rainfall, however, remains pretty high. The average chance that rainfall occurs on any given day in March is 55%. Moderate rain is by far the most common type of precipitation. It happens on no less than 67% of the days with rainfall. Light rain comes in second and moderate snow third, respectively occurring on 11% and 9% of the rainy days. Snowfall is most likely in the beginning of the month, a 9% chance, while March 31 only has a 3% chance of snowfall.

The amount of sunshine hours per day is 5 in March, a two-hour increase since February. This is due to a huge decrease in cloud cover in the course of the month (from 81% to 69%) and the lengthening of the days. Every day in March is 3.5 minutes longer than the previous one.

Outside of the Easter holidays, March is still a slow time for Disneyland Paris, so if you go at this time of the year, you're less likely to be confronted with queues of people. That means less time waiting to go on all your favourite rides!

Only a ten-minute ride with the free shuttle from the park's gates, the Vienna International Magic Circus Hotel is a well-equipped 4-star hotel. The signature of this excellent place to stay is its rooms that are decorated with images of clowns, acrobats and other circus artists. The circus-themed rooms and common areas give the hotel a unique feel. There are standard rooms and family rooms (up to 6 people). Facilities include the L'Etoile            Restaurant, Le Bar des Artistes, a heated indoor pool, a fitness centre, a beauty centre, outdoor and indoor play areas and a video games arcade.

The 'Lady and the Tramp'-themed Pizzeria Bella Notte in Fantasyland is one of the most beautifully decorated of all counter-service restaurants in Disneyland Paris. As a pizza and pasta restaurants, the unforgettable scene in which the two dogs share spaghetti and meatballs and kiss couldn't apply better. The restaurant's murals feature this particular scene and many others. The food is certainly nice, but it's the atmosphere and décor that make this restaurant worth visiting.

Another great place in Fantasyland is The Old Mill. This is not a sit-down restaurant, though, but rather a place to grab a quick snack. Its menu consists of hot dogs, pastries, baguettes, ice cream, Belgian waffles, cakes and beverages.

There is plenty to do at the huge resort that is Disneyland Paris and you're, of course, by no means limited to the thrill rides. The resort also has shopping and sports facilities, as well as a number of hotels and restaurants to try out. It is focused on children, after all, and there are plenty of rides and attractions that are suitable for the youngest generations.

From the 1st of the month, Davy Crockett's Adventure opens at Disneyland Paris, with a whole world of experiences to be found on top of the forest, with trapezes, ladders, swings and rope bridges 17 metres above the ground to be explored.

March is also the month that St. Patrick's Day falls in. For this, Minnie and Mickey and all their Disney friends dress up in traditional Celtic gear. There will be traditional Irish music and dancing, with bands playing and a St. Patrick's Day parade. In addition to this, toward the end of the evening the Sleeping Beauty Castle, the majestic centrepiece of Disneyland, is doused in green light, under a spectacular array of fireworks lighting up the sky.
