What's The Weather Like in the Costa del Sol in April?

How Warm Is the Costa Del Sol In April?

April's temperature lows stay in double figures, with 11ºC expected to be the coldest temperature in the month. However, temperature highs can reach 21ºC, proving that springtime really has arrived in the Costa del Sol.

Sunshine Hours, Sea Temperatures and Rain

Sunshine hours have now reached seven hours per day, and the amount of rainfall has decreased to 40mm, although that still might mean the island will see 11 days of rain. Sea temperatures reach the 16 degrees mark in April.

Costa del Sol Hotels in April

Consider renting an apartment or villa on the Costa del Sol directly from the owners.

Hostel Sol y Miel guesthouse in Benalmadena offers 40 comfy and well-priced rooms and a good location; the hotel is only a short distance from the Cable Car and Tivoli Park in Benalmadena. The rooms can cater for up to four people, and offer a DVD player along with free Wi-Fi connection. Great value for money and great service make this place a popular choice.

Unlike other areas of mainland Spain, the Costa del Sol does provide some good options for happy campers. Camping Torremolinos is one of the best campsites and is situated within 600 metres from Los Alamos Beach. The camp site provides sand plots in the shade, and is located handily closely to Torremolinos' largest entertainment complex, the Plaza Mayor.

Over in Malaga, Malaga Lodge Holiday Homes supplies first-rate self-catering accommodation right in the middle of the old part of the city. The bedrooms are well furnished and boast spotless bathrooms. This is a good choice for tourists on a budget.

Costa del Sol Beach for April

Torre Bermeja Beach in Benalmadena is one for the entire family to enjoy. It might be a compact beach at just 600 metres long in length, but is close to the main town area and the various entertainment activities. Beach bars and restaurants compete for people's attention, and other facilities include showers, a children's park, sunshades and beach beds and easy access for the disabled.

The water is calm, but that makes it ideal for swimming or other water-related activities and the sand's surface is grey, but sandy. A beach football pitch has even been set-up, complete with goalposts. This will add to the lively atmosphere of a holiday can you be the next Xavi, Iniesta or Fabregas! Volleyball is another family option.

El Playazo Beach in Nerja is little known however, it offers a long strength of sandy beach fringed by tropical plantations and agricultural fields. Nerja's longest beach is currently undeveloped, but will take tourists away from the central action, which can sometimes be a hindrance rather than a pleasantry.

This is the place to go to do some sunbathing, having a splash in the sea, play games on the beach and enjoy a reasonable meal. Without a promenade, the choice of eating/drinking establishments is lacking in quality, but coming to this beach for some calm thoughts is recommended.

Bars and Restaurants

Fancy a curry? Nirvana Indian Restaurant in Benalmadena ticks all the boxes on that score. This is a great Indian restaurant, which can seat up to 60 people indoor and outdoor surroundings. Try the tarka daal and the king prawn dish.

Torremolinos has some of the best nightlife in the Costa del Sol and Disco Atrevete is a good club that's guaranteed to get the party going. Boasting two floors and a lively party atmosphere, this club is described as 'a saucy salsa venue' and attracts partygoers from all over Andalucía.

Casino Torrequebrada in Benalmadena is a classy casino based in the five-star Hotel Torrequebrada. You can take your chance at blackjack, poker and at the roulette tables. You will need to take formal identification with you to prove your age, plus dress formally, otherwise access is prohibited. Once that's all sorted, all you need to do is master your poker face

Things to do in Costa del Sol in April

Exploring the Andalusian countryside on horseback is a hugely enjoyable and exhilarating activity.  Take the trip to the village of Casares for good range of hacks and well-trained, friendly horses courtesy of Riding Fun in the Sun. Enjoy breathtaking views towards the North African coast while exploring the beautiful Casares/Manilva/Gaucin countryside as well as getting to grips with your trusty steed and will no doubt rate highly as a wonderful memorable holiday experience. This is suitable for all the family and riders of all levels, including beginners.

Open since July 2007, Parque La Bateria in Torremolinos provides spectacular views of fountains and lakes. This park overlooks the coastline of Carahuela at the end of Torremolinos, and there are reminders of its past military base here, with old firing guns overlooking the harbour and sea. There are play areas for the children, too. It is an enjoyable and educational day out for the whole family.
