The temperatures tend to increase from April on in Brighton. The weather is usually warm and sunny however, the climate can still be temperamental at this time of the year and it's not uncommon to see sudden rain or colder temperatures reminiscent of winter.

Pack accordingly with layers of clothes and a warmer jacket or coat in case of bad weather.

There's plenty to do in Brighton over the Easter break.

See some of the South Downs countryside on a trip up to Devils Dyke for the Easter Egg hunt. All the family can enjoy the hunt, with guaranteed prizes. Or try the Easter Egg Rolling Competition. Bring a hand decorated hardboiled egg and roll it down the Dyke. The egg that rolls the furthest wins, though the best decorated is also judged.

If the weather doesn't hold out, you can always visit Brighton's old picturehouse cinema, the Duke of York's. The independent cinema shows the best in indie and mainstream films and is a quirkier alternative to the cinema chains Odeon and Cineworld, which are also both available.

For eating out in Brighton, there are a vast number of options. Most of the pubs and some bars offer food and there are a large number of great restaurants here too.

For some celebrity dining, Jamie Oliver's restaurant offers Italian food, while Fatboy Slim's Okinami serves Japanese.

As you may expect, there are a lot of seafood restaurants in Brighton. The Regency is one of the most long established and popular ones. The restaurant serves excellent food at low prices and even famous chef Rick Stein recommended it.

Pompoko is a hugely popular Japanese restaurant that is always packed. Dishes are available for as little as £4. Takeaway is also available.

When looking for somewhere to stay, there are plenty of different options, depending on what you're after.

Jury's Inn is located right next to Brighton Station, whereas Premier Inn is in the centre of Brighton.

For a stay on the seafront the Holiday Inn is just across the road from the beach or there's the Amsterdam Hotel in Kemp Town, which is right across from the Brighton Pier and Wheel.
