Every year in May, Thessaloniki's water park, known as Waterland opens its doors to the public and stays open throughout the summer. There are several free buses each day, starting from outside the railroad station, which can get you to Waterland in mere twenty minutes. A whole day pass there costs 13.5 (10 for children and free for toddlers 0-4) and guarantees a full day of fun in Waterpark's numerous pools, water slides and watersport activites.

Returning to the city itself, you should do well to pay a visit to one of Greece's most famous pastry and confectionary shop; Chatzis.
