What's the weather like in Mojacar in January?
Temperature
January is one of the winter months in Mojacar, but it still has plenty to offer as a holiday resort. The average daily temperature is 11°C, which is perfectly manageable if you wrap up with a coat before you go outside. The lows can go down as far as 8°C, but the highs of 14°C also make up for this. While it could certainly not be called hot, this also means that it is one of the quieter months in terms of tourism in Spain, so a lot of places will be more open for you to explore by yourself.
Rain
The average rainfall throughout the month stands at 27mm, usually over around 12 days. While this is one of the wettest points of the year, it is still a small amount compared to countries with a tropical climate or wetter northern Europe. February and December are generally drier, so skewing your holiday to the start or end of the month may help to keep the chance of rain down.
Sunshine Hours
8 hours of sunshine a day mean that there is plenty of time for you to get out and about during the day, no matter what you want to do. You can also enjoy the sea if you are brave enough, and you will find it to be surprisingly warm: average temperatures of 16°C make it preferential to the actual air. Do be sure to bring a towel so that you are not shivering at the temperature change when you get out of the water!
It is important to note that this is the coldest month of the year, so sun-seekers are advised to visit at a different time. This part of the country is very warm in the summertime by comparison, so consider trying a summer visit if you really want to have that daily heat.
