Sorted by popularity:

What's the weather like in Koh Tao in October?

Located in the Gulf of Thailand, just 40 kilometres from the mainland, Koh Tao is a small but popular holiday island. The island receives hundreds of thousands of visitors every year thanks to its world-class diving spots, beautiful beaches and hot, sunny weather.

Koh Tao experiences a sub-tropical climate with consistently high temperatures and rainfall dictated by monsoon winds. The island has three different season; the dry season, the hot season and the wet season. October falls in the middle of Koh Tao's North East monsoon season which brings a big increase in rain to the island. As a result, it is one of the wettest months of the year, falling just behind November.

Rain

There an average of 275mm of precipitation and 20 wet days per month in Koh Tao, with a 47% chance of rainfall, so travellers are likely to experience some wet weather on their trip. An increase in rain brings with it an increase in cloud cover, and October sees a 62% chance of a cloudy day.

There will be a slight drop in temperature for the month, though temperatures still remain hot. The average temperature at this time of year reads at 27°C with highs of 30°C and lows of 23°C. High humidity levels can make it feel even hotter.

Sunshine Hours

Koh Tao is a sunny island all year round, though extra cloud cover in October can make many days dull and cloudy. There's an average of 6 hours of sunshine every day, but only a 2% chance of a sunny day.
