September Weather Averages

This is the warmest month of the year, equally as warm as August, but with much, much fewer tourists. If you want to work on your tan on a beach that isn't overcrowded, this is the time of year to head to this gorgeous destination.

September is characterised by an average temperature of 24°C, making it effectively the warmest month of the year. August, as mentioned above is similarly warm, while July and October are both one degree cooler on average. The average low (night-time) temperature is a warm 21°C; the average high (afternoon) temperature a hot 27°C. Even the temperature of the sea water is at its annual high at this time of yeart averages 24°C now.

Although pretty much all months are relatively dry, September is still one of the driest. With its 4mm of rainfall in total and a mere 2 days with rainfall, this is the fifth driest month of the year, after the four previous months of May, June, July and August. If it does rain, it will be as drizzle, light rain or moderate rain. Heavy rain or thunderstorms almost never occur at this time of year.

September has 8 hours of sunshine per day on average. While this might be one or two hours fewer than the previous three months, this is not due to a significant increase in cloud cover, but only to the fact that the days are slowly getting shorter.
