El Día de Nacimiento de Benito Juárez

Each March, Cancun celebrates El Día de Nacimiento de Benito Juárez – the anniversary of the birth of Benito Juárez, a former Mexican president. During this event, almost all shops, banks and supermarkets will be closed all day.

Semana Santa (Holy Week) is celebrated with religious masses and services held in various churches throughout Cancun, including Parroquia de Cristo Resucitado and Nuestra Señora de la Merced.
