The weather hardly changes between January and February in Cancun, Mexico when the average temperature is a pleasant 23°C. Things to do
The Captain Hook Pirate Ship is one of the most popular attractions in the whole of Cancun and is a great place for a family to spend a day together. The whole of Mexico, Cancun included, celebrates the signing of their constitution in 1917 with Constitution Day. This important constitution set a model for social rights which was later mirrored by international governments across the globe. Although there aren't any real events of activities celebrated in honour of this day, you'll probably find many banks, supermarkets and government buildings to be closed.

Día de San Valentín (Valentine's Day) is celebrated throughout Cancun, much in the same way as it is anywhere else in the world. On this day, many nightclubs, bars, restaurants and hotels throw romantic-themed parties, often with a red and white dress code.

The Día de la Bandera de Mexico (National Flag Day) is celebrated with a number of colourful celebrations. During this event, locals decorate the front of their houses and the streets in white, green and red – the colours of the Mexican flag. You’ll also find plenty of street vendors throughout the resort selling miniature versions of the flag to tourists and patriotic locals.
