April marks the beginning of summer and the peak tourist season in Rhodes. Temperatures are starting to climb and the days are getting longer and sunnier.
The chances of rain in April are still high; however, you can expect plenty of warm and sunny days as well. The average monthly amount of precipitation is around 24 mm; which will fall over the course of 3 days out of the month.

Things to do
Valley of the Butterflies is perfect for families travelling with young children. Found south east of Tholos, this attraction is one of the most attractive destinations in Rhodes and is always a hit. From June onwards, thousands of butterflies visit the valley with the aim of reproducing. In the months before June, the butterflies are somewhat present – they’re in the form of caterpillars or cocoons, so the valley is not nearly as impressive. Sound and Light Performances
1st April 2015 to 30th April 2015
The Sound and Light Performances take place every evening between the beginning of April until the end of October each year at the Municipal Garden which surrounds the walls of Rhodes Town. The performances combine entertainment and education through lighting, projected images and stereophonic effects - almost like a play without any actors. The story details the unequal struggles between the people of Rhodes and the Knights of Saint John who battled together against the Turkish Army until Suleiman the Great took over.
Greek Orthodox Easter
10th April 2015 to 12th April 2015
Easter is an important religious holiday celebrated in Rhodes every year in March or April. Each town and village throughout the island, including Lindos, Rhodes Town and Ixia, celebrates the event in its own way, but most of the celebrations usually start off with a parade of Epitaphios on the evening of Good Friday, with locals following the statue carrying lit candles. This is followed by a long church service held on Saturday evening and indulgent feasting on Sunday.
St George's Day

St George's Day is celebrated throughout Rhodes each April. Some of the biggest and best festivities take place in Rhodes Town, Kritinia, Kalithies and Afandou where you'll usually find music concerts, dancing, feasting and special church services with livestock auctions.
