Weather Averages for Sunny Beach in December
Averages for Sunny Beach in December
December is very cool in Sunny Beach as winter truly grips the resort.
Daytime temperatures only reach up to around 8°C (46°F) and can fall to a brisk 2°C (36°F) at night. There is also a likelihood of experiencing rain at this time of year.
It would be a good idea to pack warmer jackets and waterproof macs if visiting during December.
However, as temperatures can be much milder than other parts of northern Europe, many people decide to visit Sunny Beach and spend Christmas in a more non-traditional setting!
There is still lots to see and do at this time of year.
Bulgaria is famed for its stunning scenery, and the cooler temperatures mean this is a great time of year to get out into the hills, whether it is hiking, cycling or going on a jeep safari. Guided tours are available so you can learn as much as possible about the wildlife in the area.

The area is very popular for water sports during the summer months, however in the winter you can experience the beautiful coastline by taking a boat tour around the Black Sea.
Keep in mind that boat trips may not be available if the weather is particularly bad.
For those seeking to soak up some of the local history, you can head to the ancient town of Nesebar, just to the south of Sunny Beach.
Here you can wander round the bay of this picturesque town or explore some of the ancient buildings, which range from ancient Greek to Ottoman. A particular highlight is the wide array of churches to be seen.
Though accommodation is less plentiful in the winter months, you will still be able to snap up a bargain in the resort, whether it is the high-end Majestic Hotel and Residence or the more affordable Palace Hotel, there is something to suit every budget.
