Weather

We arrived on the 24th June and the weather was very hot, a bit too hot for us, 32 degrees.

Thank goodness for the swimming pool and air con.

Really hooked on Kyrenia and will visit again in May or October next year.

Holiday

Relaxing with some sightseeing. Beaches are really nice.

Weather

The weather is dependent what month you are there but can vary between 24/25c in May, up to 30/35c in August.

Holiday

Having stayed in various parts of Kyrenia from the Colony Hotel and self catering villas in the mountains, I can say all are maintained to a high standard.

Never failed to enjoy my time in Northern Cyprus. Everyone aims to please as they appreciate you coming to the Island and they try their hardest to make it a good experience.

It's not over commercialised. It isn't a concrete jungle and is just simple and pleasant.

Wouldn't necessarily be for the real younger end of the generation who visit Aiya Napa and other resorts in the South.

Weather

I have holidayed near Kyrenia for the past 10 years. We have spent the last four Christmas's there and the weather has been very mild with only the occasional rain.

We normally go May, which is quite warm and September as well which is still warmer than our summers.

Even in February which is normally the wet month we have had days of non stop sunshine.

Holiday

Northern Cyprus is a fabulous place to go for a holiday.

The view from the harbour in Kyrenia is second to none.

The locals are very friendly and the food is fantastic as I can truthfully say in 10 years I have never had a bad meal.

If you like water sports there is plenty available, and a day out on one of the boats that sail from the harbour should not be missed.

Weather

The weather was 'perfect'!
Although on one day I did have to make a visit to Istanbul and in the evening, on my return, I was told they had had a thunderstorm, and had seen rain for the first time in 4 months!
I was sceptical and obviously asked for proof, but there was none left, so had to take my partners word!
This was around Alsancak, to the west of Kyrenia, and I understood was fairly localised.
Other than that the temperatures were great and, aided by a gentle westerly breeze, were ideal for our purpose, that is sitting by the pool, relaxing, taking a frequent dip to cool down, and then resuming the unadulterated sun worshipping!

Holiday

I loved the holiday, aided by the fact that we had some friends who had recently moved there to live,so we were shown around by them and met other expats who have moved there and had a varied social life.
Many of the people we met who now live there, are aware that prices have shot up and it is not easy for them, if they had budgeted within a set income. This feeling that the cost of living has increased was a common reaction amongst all people who have chosen to move there.

My view of Alsancak the area where we were staying is basically that it is not pretty.
Everything revolves around the busy main road that runs west to east along the coast and if you require a beach you have to venture off this road to find one.
There are a few, but all require payment. Escape is one of the busy and commercial ones and whereas the charge for the bed etc. is reasonable, they do sting you for drinks that you have to buy within there facility.

I wish we had found and tried the beach at Demizkize earlier in our holiday.

Weather

Fantastic weather, hot, hot, hot can be dangerous to be out in the sun for too long, the sea was at boiling point, and not a single cloud in sight, how the tarmac doesn't melt is beyond me.

Holiday

Great accommodation and our very friendly Cypriot hosts went out of their way to make it a holiday experience of a lifetime, so much to do we will have to return and see more especially the Karpaz peninsula which we did'nt have time to visit.
We found some excellent restaurants and the Meze is a great evening meal (so many choices) and all with a taste of the island.

Weather

It was strange to go through different stages of hot weather throughout the day, we started in Larnaca which is south facing and was a good 38 degrees in the shade, then to Nicosia and the border crossing which was about 42 in the shade and the drove to Kyrenia north facing which was a pleasant 36 degress in the shade, in general the whole island is an inferno and out of the shade bloody unpleasant, but in the shade or with the luxury of air-con you can enjoy all the trips on offer.

Holiday

it was a fantastic two weeks, we had read about the "Cyprus problem" and as neutrals had no reason to take sides or question each cultures motives. we moved freely from one border to the next and met Cypriots who were all friendly and helpful, maybe a bit naive but we didn't question who or where they where from, we just guessed that they spoke a different language like the Celts and the Saxons, not many miles apart but hard to understand non the less, but both with one goal and that was to make you feel welcome in their homeland.
