November is much cooler and wetter than previous months as the summer season has now ended. Daytime temperatures still reach a pleasant high of 19°C (66°F) but can fall to 11°C (52°F) in the evenings.
You can expect rain on an average of 12 days this month, so you may experience some showers. However, on clear days there can be up to 8 hours of sunshine, so you can still get out and explore the area.
Though you may not be able to laze on the beach you can still do some horse riding along the sea front, or take a boat trip around the Ria Formosa Lagoon.
The old part of the city of Faro is also worth a visit for its wealth of Moorish architecture and Roman city walls.
Golf is popular all year round and there are many courses in the area for any level of experience.
A good accommodation option is the Aeromar which is located next to the beach. Although it may not be sunbathing weather, the hotel still has stunning views of the ocean and Ria Formosa Lagoon. A twin room with breakfast is available for £224.
The Ibis Hotel remains a perennial favourite, being ideally located for access to central Faro, the airport and the beach. Twin rooms here are offered for £229, and nearby are tennis courts and a golf course.
The Hospedaria Frangaria has twin rooms including breakfast for £293. Located in central Faro, you can either eat at the hotel restaurant or head out and explore the wide variety of eateries the city has to offer.
