Extreme Cold Temperatures

Like any other destination in the world, Jersey also has its fair share of bad weather. However, compared to many other destinations around the globe, Jersey weather is known to be mild throughout the year and rarely gets to extreme conditions. However, most of the harsh climatic conditions have been associated with winter time. For instance, in some cases, temperatures in winter have dropped to as low as 2°C during the day and as low as -4°C at night. Easterly winds are known to bring in freezing air from different parts of Europe and the entire British Isles.

Strong Winds and High Tidal Waves

In addition, winter also experiences strong waves of more than 26ft (8m) and winds of 50 Knots that have in the past disrupted ferry services between Jersey, Guernsey, Southampton and Portsmouth.

In January 2018, Storm Eleanor with speeds of over 100 miles per hour hit the entire United Kingdom causing severe damage in many places including the Channel Islands. Strong winds and high tidal waves occasionally hit Jersey causing debris and large rocks to be tossed onto the island and trees uprooted.

Whether you're looking for a place to unwind for a long holiday, weekend gateaway or a romantic spot to celebrate your love, Jersey Island is the best destination you can ever visit.

Visit Jersey Island to enjoy the tranquil unspoilt beaches, engage in different water sports, travel back in history, enjoy natural views and landscapes, eat and drink as well as indulge in the local culture. Before travelling, be sure to check for the prevailing weather conditions in order to adequately plan for your trip.
