Averages for Orlando in August

Weather low-down

August in Orlando is characterised by high heat and humidity, with rain very likely. Similar to July, the average daytime temperatures are around 33°C (about 92°F) so it’s not the best time to go to Orlando if you’re not used to hot weather. You can’t even rely on a drop in temperature at night with average minimum temperatures of around 23°C (about 73°F). As it’s peak season and can still get quite crowded with families.

The average amount of sunshine seen in August is 9 hours per day, and humidity is still around 95%. It is too hot in mid afternoon to do any outdoor activities, so most tourists enjoy going to shopping malls and other indoor attractions during this time. All hotels, taxis and indoor attractions will be air conditioned, but remember to keep yourself hydrated with plenty of water and protect your skin with sun cream when going outside.

As it’s still rainy season, the average monthly precipitation for August is around 171 mm. Afternoon thunderstorms are therefore very likely, but usually subside within an hour. It is also hurricane season from June until September and risk levels peak in August.
