Within Kos’s “bar mile,” tourists will find a bar or club to suit any mood and taste. Hamam, for example, is a club that features live music, usually in the form of up-and-coming guitarists and singers.
Greg’s Place is another bar in Kardamena. The drinks are interesting and exotic, yet they are priced very fairly. Music from many genres and decades come together to offer an amazing atmosphere. A giant outdoor screen plays video clips and sporting events.
There is lots of fun to be had within Kos even if you are not there to party. The city has many great restaurants and cafés. One of these, Latino, gives free Latin dance lessons via a large projector screen. Another café, Hippocrates, is situated near ancient ruins yet it offers lively Greek music, the tow combining for a great atmosphere.
Accommodation options are varied in the area. Elga Hotel is one suited best for 18- to 30-year-olds. The 24-hour bar, for example, provides a central location for those on their way back to the room after a long night on the town.
The location is the best feature. Everything from dining and drinking to shopping and sightseeing is within a five-minute walk. Many restaurants are excellent examples of traditional Greek fare a very good price.
The pool is lovely and is constantly bragged about for its fun atmosphere. Sun beds always seem to be available no matter what time of year, and the pool bar assures that guests won’t have to go very far for lunch or drinks.
Also, the Stenna Apartments are on the harbour road near Kontessa. The balconies catch the morning sun, which is nice since there is no pool at this particular hotel. Guests adore the huge bathrooms, though, which are great for getting ready for a night on the town.
Along the harbour road is Galini’s, a Greek restaurant which offers an inexpensive but varied menu. For an entire day out, opt for a day trip to Kos Town on a local bus.
