Temperature

July is very warm in Los Angeles, USA,  and by now the summer is in full swing. This means you can enjoy the best that the city has to offer with an average daily temperature of 22°C (about 71°F). In July 2006, the record high temperature for greater Los Angeles was recorded at Woodland Hills, located in the South West of San Fernando Valley. During that month, the barometer rose to an astonishing 48.33°C!

The average daily high temperature in July reaches a very nice 27°C (about 81°F) at its hottest and evening temperatures only reach as low as 16°C (around 61°F), still comfortable. Las Vegas is even hotter, if you're wanting a warmer holiday. Like May and June, the number of hours of sunshine in July is 13 hours. Your chance of having a sunny day on a given day is 65 percent, so be sure to bring your sunglasses or hat.

Rain

Abalone Cove Beach

Known for its tide pools, Abalone Cove Beach is a five-mile stretch of sand and rocky bluffs in Rancho Palos Verdes. The tide pools are full of colored sea urchins and you'll also see other wildlife like starfish and crabs. Nearby is a 64-acre ecological preserve with trails and astounding views from the bluffs above the beach.

Santa Monica Beach

One of the most well-known Los Angeles beaches, Santa Monica Beach is perfect for the active with swimming, surfing, biking, volleyball, beach gymnastics and even outdoor chess. With three miles and 245 square acres of sand, the beach offers beautiful water views to one side and views of the Santa Monica Mountains to the other.

Your furry friend does not have to miss out on the beach fun at Huntington Dog Beach in Huntington Beach. Metered parking is available and frequent visitors can invest in a yearly parking pass. Visitors must clean up after their dog and the beach has numerous disposal bag stations and trash cans up and down the beach.

4th of July

A trip to Los Angeles during the 4th of July holiday would not be complete without viewing spectacular fireworks.
