Temperature

November is approaching the winter season in Playa del CarmenMexico, but the temperatures remain warm thanks to the resort's year-round tropical climate. November also marks the start of the dry season, which means rainfall decreases drastically from the previous months. It is a great time to visit Playa del Carmen because the weather is extremely pleasant and the rains have all but stopped perfect for soaking up some last-minute sun before winter finally sets in.

Average temperatures in November usually hover around 25°C, though they will often rise to 30°C and above, especially during the hotter parts of the day. At night, the temperatures cool off quite a lot, but remain pleasant at around 21°C. If you are visiting Playa del Carmen at this time of year, it is a good idea to pack layers. T-shirts, shorts, and swimwear are perfect for the warm days, but you might want to pack an extra layer or two for when the temperatures cool down in the evening. Remember to slip some sun cream into your luggage, too, as the sun is still strong in November.

Rain

Playa del Carmen's equatorial location means it experiences a tropical climate complete with a dry season and a rainy season. November falls at the start of the dry season, which means that there is barely any rainfall throughout the month. It is very unlikely that you will experience any showers during your trip, but it might be a good idea to pack and umbrella and some waterproofs just to stay on the safe side.

Playa Del Carmen Beach for November 

Cancun sits just along the coast from Playa del Carmen and boasts a variety of beautiful, hugely popular beaches. Here, the crystal blue waters offer uninterrupted views and there is hardly any hustle and bustle like on the main Playa del Carmen beaches. This is a fantastic spot for snorkelling, as the peaceful atmosphere encourages the colourful, underwater world to come to life.

Bars and Restaurants 

Cenacola provides an Italian gastronomic experience in Playa del Carmen. The restaurant itself is sophisticated and stylish, with a modern interior, ambient lighting, and an array of muted, earthy tones. There is also a bustling outdoor terrace that is perfect for enjoying the balmy November evenings in. The menu focuses on a range of Italian, artisanal delights, including a delicious selection of homemade pastas and pizzas. There are also some more experimental dishes, such as tuna fish tartar, shrimp-stuffed calamari, Plinio steak, and king crab legs.

Chocolate lovers will not want to miss a visit to La Casa el Chocolat, a deliciously sweet-smelling artisan café in the heart of Playa del Carmen. Visitors can browse and sample the huge range of chocolate treats enticingly on show in the display cabinets, and enjoy a hot drink surrounded by the sweet smells. As well as chocolate in all shapes and sizes, La Casa also makes and sells a variety of mouth-watering cakes, fruit salads, pastries, and desserts.

Things to do in Playa Del Carmen in November 

Shopaholics and clothes lovers should visit the Colors Collection Boutique store set down a winding side street in the centre of Playa del Carmen. The sophisticated boutique store is run by two sisters who ensure that each and every piece is of the highest quality. The affordable garments are made locally using local fabrics and artists, and they are perfect for a special occasion or as a memento for your trip.

Venture outside of the bustling centre of Playa del Carmen and visit Avenida Juarez. This vibrant little street is filled with authentic, family-run restaurants, shops, and cafes, as well as an eclectic selection of local art and design studios. This area is Mexican in its style and atmosphere, providing a colourful insight into traditional Mexican life outside of Playa del Carmen's tourist hotspots.

Parks are popular hangouts in Playa del Carmen (besides the beaches), and the resort is filled with them. Parque 28 de Julio is a great choice if you are looking to experience some free, fun entertainment like live music and interesting performances.
