If visitors are brave enough, now is also a time where you can hit the beach. The water temperature is warmer than the previous month and can be braved with the help of a wetsuit for a small amount of time. On average, the water temperature is a cool 11°C (52°F) for the month. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of 9 hours of sunshine per day to relax on the sand.

For those who like to be outside, this is also the driest month of the year. The region receives an average of only 37mm of precipitation throughout the month. This rain will fall over an average of 18 days, but much of the rain is very light in nature allowing visitors to get back outside as soon as possible.

There is also no chance of frozen precipitation as temperatures are now well above freezing. Overall, the average daily temperature for this time of year is 11°C (52°F). A light jacket is still needed in the early morning hours when overnight lows fall to an average of 8°C (46°F). However, temperatures will climb quickly to 14°C (57°F) by the afternoon hours. What to Do

With May being the driest month of the year, now is the time to get outside. If you find yourself in town in the spring, be sure to check the sporting schedule at Anfield Stadium. The stadium is the seventh largest in England and has been home to Liverpool F.C since 1892. Watching a match here is like nothing you have ever experienced before and it should not be missed.

On nice days, be sure to take a visit to Sefton Park. Open 24-hours-a-day and 365 days a year, the park is home to 235 acres of caves and waterfalls, statues and a playground for children. Adults may also want to spend some time at the cafes and visit the Palm House to see what event it might be hosting.
