Make sure you drag yourself away from the beach when the sun is at its hottest – between 11am and 2pm – to avoid sunburn and heatstroke. Head back to your hotel to enjoy an after-lunch nap or make use of the facilities.

The Esphesia Hotel offers a great selection of facilities for the whole family to enjoy in the shade, such as a kids club, game centre and Turkish baths. This hotel offers cheap accommodation and all the rooms are air-conditioned which is a must in August.

A visit to Kusadasi is not complete without a day trip to Izimir – the third largest city in Turkey. This beautiful city is overflowing with palm-lined promenades, bars, cafes and restaurants and hosts a spectacular International Fair in the Alsancak district in August.
