Christmas Nativity Exhibition – Benalmádena Pueblo 🗓
Local associations display intricate nativity scenes (belenes) in the cultural centre and churches. Visitors can follow a nativity route through the old town, admiring creative and traditional designs. The exhibition reflects Andalusian craftsmanship and strong festive traditions.

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day 👥
Christmas Eve is more significant than Christmas Day itself in Spain. It is commonly hosted in grandparents' homes where the meal is cooked. The meal is sumptuous and, of course, large. It is so large that is can begin by 10pm and last until the early hours. Christmas carols may be sung around the nativity scene at home or families go out for the midnight Mass (La Misa del Gallo) in the local church. Many still stay at home for the Christmas shows on TV over turron (nougat) and matecas (butter biscuits). It is not done until a sharing of Cava, the Spanish equivalent of champagne. While typical dishes vary from region to region, in Benalmadena, the staple is turkey or duck, and seafood, being a coastal town. And on Christmas Day, a relatively quiet one, another large meal is served at midday and friends are invited. Some gift-giving goes around, but the real one happens on the 6th of January, The Three Kings' Day.

New Year’s Eve Celebrations – Plaza de la Mezquita 👥
Benalmádena welcomes the new year with open-air concerts, fireworks, and communal grape eating at midnight. Plaza de la Mezquita hosts the main celebration, while bars and restaurants at Puerto Marina stay open late for dancing and countdown festivities beside the sea.

The Three Kings Parade (Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos) 👥
One of Spain’s most loved traditions, this colourful procession winds through Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmádena Pueblo. The Three Kings throw sweets to children as music bands and floats pass by. The event ends with fireworks and live music at Plaza de la Mezquita.
