Weather in September still hot but not as stifling as mid summer. This makes sightseeing more pleasant especially as Athens can be hilly in places and shade is not always available at city sights.
Very pleasant.
Can get coastal breezes.

Great city for wandering.
Felt very secure although still aware of surroundings as with any other major city.
A bit wary of the feral dogs roaming the streets but generally they are uninterested and happy to sleep off the heat of the day undisturbed.
More than enough to occupy yourself during day with sights and museums. A lovely city to walk around. Be very careful of the mad driving when crossing roads. Always use pedestrian lights/ crossing as even then can still be taking own life in your hands.

I am from NYC and I think this is great weather. Overall temperatures for the past 2 weeks have been in the low 80's with no humity (which is something we dread about NYC summers). I understand the weather in NYC today is almost unbareable, with very high humity.

My husband and I are here in Athens for a 2.5 month stay combining business/pleasure. It does take some getting used to dealing with the "Greek way of Business", very different from ours in the USA.

My biggest complaint is the same that the Greek citizens have and that is the prices for everything are ridiculously high. It is so expensive on a daily basis here compared to NYC. We have been coming to Greece for more than 20 years and have family here so we are not talking about going out to nightclubs every night. We are just speaking of getting around and eating daily, very expensive. Things were much cheaper prior to the conversion to the euro.

There is no problem with any danger here even though you might hear bits and pieces of news with some demonstrations, etc. We feel perfectly safe and go every where.

The Greeks do have a very high illegal immigration problem though, and I hope they will find a solution, it is costing the country money it does not have.

It was hot, in the 90's, and always sunny.

Busy but a really cool city.

Plaka at night is great and it is very pleasant.

It was really nice.

I visited the Acroplis, went to Plaka, had coffee at the cafes and ate at the tavernas.

Summer is great but busy.
