Averages for Tenerife north in June

Summer finally arrives to Tenerife North in June.   The average daily temperature lingers around 22 degrees Celsius.  The daytime temperature can dip down to 19 degrees but can get as high as 25 degrees as well.  The Atlantic Ocean finally warms up enough to swim—it reaches up to 21 degrees.  The island enjoys twelve hours of sunshine on any given day.  And the rainfall throughout June drops to ten mm.

For a budget-friendly hotel, the Hotel Silken Atlantida offers modern amenities within the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife at fair rates.  With 144 rooms, this skyscraper hotel offers beautiful views of the city and scenery.  Popular with business and independent travelers, the Hotel Silken Atlantida is conveniently located near Santa Cruz de Tenerife attractions.

June brings many festivals to Tenerife.  While there is no hard date for it, the feast of Corpus Christi can fall in the month of June.  To celebrate it, locals observe the Dia de las Albombras, or Day of the Carpets.  This is a day when they make intricate “carpets” made out of flowers and other natural materials in the streets.  And once they are complete, the townspeople walk over them, essentially destroying them.  Be sure to see them before they’re walked on!

And on June 23rd, Tenerife celebrates the Fiestas de San Juan or Festival of St. John the Baptist.  This festival, like its counterparts in mainland Spain, is celebrated with fireworks and bonfires.  If you are able to make time for the fiestas, you’ll witness spectacular shows of enthusiasm and faith.

One of the best and most popular beaches on Tenerife North is Playa de Benijo.  This spectacular stretch of coast is juxtaposed between bright blue ocean; dark, jutting rocks and soft, fine sand.  Because of the rocky stretches, this beach may not be ideal for sunbathing but it is a spectacular place to relax, walk on the beach or watch the sunset.
