Averages for Salou in July
Salou in Spain has beautiful weather during July. If you’re looking for a place to spend your summer holiday that isn’t too hot, Salou is a great choice. Daytime average temperatures reach a high of 28°C (82°F) and only fall to 21°C (70°F) at night with an average temperature of 25°C (77°F) making it a great time to visit.
The highest recorded temperature in July (1997) has been about 27°C (82°F), with the lowest recorded temperature (2012) at 12°C (55°F). The weather holds at about 27°C from the beginning of the month into the third week. The warm weather continues to increase into the month reaching 28°C by the end of the third week and on through the end of the month. Rain and storms begin the month in July but clear up by the end of the second week to provide long stretches of sunny days. There is a possibility for rain about once a week the last half of the month, but other than that, enjoy bright sunny days.
The sea temperature reaches its second to warmest temperature of the year in July at 23°C (73°F). This is the perfect time for adventurers who want to enjoy surfing, snorkeling and jet skiing to get out in the water. The temperature makes for a lovely barefoot walk along the beach, as well.
Humidity is mostly between 60 and 70% for the first week of July, but you can expect it to drop a little and be in the 50s and 60s for the rest of the month. There is some variety throughout the month when the humidity will be lower than 50%; even into the 30s. The daily average for July is around 61%, making it quite nice.

Things to do
Port Aventura Park is a must on most visitors to-do lists when they visit Salou. Overwhelmingly the city’s most popular attraction, it’s fun for the whole family. You could spend your entire time in Salou here, staying at one of the hotels on site and enjoying the Aquatic Park. The Park offers a unique experience as you travel through different theme areas. Explore the lush vegetation of Polynesia, discover the beautiful buildings in China and see the ruins of Colonial Mexico without ever leaving Salou. You can enjoy six different worlds as well as popular characters of Sesame Street and amazing shows. Exciting rides will keep the entire family entertained, food is available on site and there’s a firework show to enjoy at night. If you only have one day to spend in the park, consider getting the express pass for quicker entrance onto rides.
Costa Caribe Aquatic Park has been completely renovated and extended to feature a children’s pool with two depth levels and a pirate ship filled with Sesame Street characters. Take your family to one of the top water parks in Spain where you can practice rafting, go down slides or relax in a lounger. In addition to this, kids can enjoy the splash pad while parents relax on large water beds. The park’s greatest innovation is Europe’s highest free-fall waterslide. Thrill seekers will love launching themselves from a height of 31 metres down a slope of 55 degrees. If you prefer a calmer slide, you can try the multi bumper or six-lane racer slide. Enjoy the lush Carribbean environment with more than 50 species of plants and palm trees.

Hit the beach
Platja dels Llenguadets is a nice little cove with clear, shallow water ideal for families. While you’re there, you can hire sun loungers and umbrellas, use the showers and clean toilets, as well as enjoy an ice cream and cold drink. If you’re looking for a clean, quiet beach where you can swim and sunbathe away from the maddening crowd, Platja dels Llenguadets is for you.
Where to eat & drink
Gran Cafe Kahlua is perfect for outdoor seating and enjoying a reasonably priced meal. Although there is no sea view, the wide range of food on the menu is excellent and worth the trip. The staff is friendly and provides amazing service.
For a mix of Spanish, contemporary and British food, check out The Grapevine. Open from Breakfast through late night, the menu is very affordable with nicely sized portions. The staff is quite welcoming and friendly, making the experience wonderful.
Where to stay
Close to the beach and Port Aventura park is the H10 Mediterranean Village hotel. Here you’ll enjoy a modern hotel with magnificent views of the Costa Daurada. It has been refurbished, making the rooms and spacious apartments even more comfortable. The hotel features a wide range of cuisine and a full entertainment programme for adults and kids alike will keep you and your family happy during your stay.
