Jersey is set away from the coast of Normandy in France and is part of the Channel Islands. The island typically experiences four distinct seasons throughout the year. Rainfall is fairly moderate all year round so it is recommended that visitors come prepared for wet weather, which can range from light showers to heavy rainfall!

 

Summer weather in Jersey is warm with an average high temperature of 17°C in June and 19°C in July and August. The average lows throughout summer are 11°C in June, 13°C in July and a cool 14°C in August. Summer is the driest time of year in Jersey, receiving 48mm in June over 12 rainy days, 42mm of rainfall in July during 11 days of precipitation and 13 days of precipitation in August, receiving an estimate of 52mm of rain over all.

 

Jersey’s climate in autumn is slightly cooler with an average low temperature of 12°C in September, 11°C in October and a chilly 7°C in November. The average high temperatures of autumn are 18°C in September, 14°C in October and 11°C in November. Some frost may appear in November, so remember to come prepared for chilly weather.

Autumn can be a wet time of year in Jersey, receiving 75mm of rainfall over 14 rainy days in September and 18 days of precipitation in October. November is the wettest season of the year, receiving 18 days of precipitation and around 115mm of rainfall.

 

Winter is the coldest time of year in Jersey with an average low of 4°C throughout December, January and February. The average high temperatures during the winter months are 8°C in December and February and 7°C in January (the coldest month of the year). All months in winter may receive some frost, so it is advised that visitors pack with them warm jumpers and woolly socks to embrace the cool winter weather and to check the weather forecast before they arrive in Jersey.

Winter receives less rain than November, at only 112mm of rain in December, 102mm in January and just 77mm of rain in February. December and January have around 19 days of precipitation each, followed by February with 16 rainy days.

 

Spring is a slightly warmer time of year with an average high of 9°C of March, 12°C in April and 14°C in May. The weather in Jersey can still be rather cool with an average low of a chilly 5°C in March, 6°C in April and 9°C in May. March and April sometimes receives some frost but May should receive no frost at all.

March receives 17 rainy days throughout the month with a total of around 76mm. April and May both receive 15 days of precipitation, April receiving slightly less rain at 55mm compared to May receiving 56mm of rain.
