Tucked in between Anjuna Beach and Vagator Beach, Ozran Beach is a small bay, mainly used by tourists. The ideal place for a peaceful day out, this beach is made up of soft golden sands lined by gentle waves which are safe enough for swimming in. There are a few beach shacks dotted on the beach which serve local food and cheap drinks, plus sun loungers and shades for diners, and you'll also find massage kiosks and yoga classes held along the coast. This beach is one of the best places from which to watch the sunset, so if you're planning to be there early evening, make sure you take your camera.

Things to do in Goa in October 

Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary

Animal lovers won't want to pass up the opportunity to visit the Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. Located on the western tip of Goa along the Mandovi River, this bird sanctuary is the only one in the resort and is home to a variety of migratory and local birds, as well as crocodiles, crabs, jackals and foxes. The birds and animals live in a natural mangrove ecosystem made up of mangrove scrub vegetation which you can walk through and water channels which you can canoe through. There is a watch tower within the sanctuary ideally positioned for bird watching, too.

The best time to visit the sanctuary is early morning which is when you'll see most of the wildlife and you either need to be part of a tour or have permission from the Chief Wildlife Warden of the Forest Department in Panaji to enter.

St Alex Church

The St Alex Church is the most famous landmark of Curtorim in Goa. Built in 1597, this church is one of the oldest in the resort and was constructed on the site of an ancient Hindu temple built in honour of Ravalnath a form of Lord Shiva. The remains of the original temple are still visible today, but most people travel to the church to admire the white exterior with traditional Portuguese features and to participate in the religious services which are occasionally held in English.
