Averages for Costa Teguise in November

For British travellers looking to escape the onset of the British winter without leaving behind the familiarity of home, Costa Teguise, Spain, is an ideal option. A purpose built resort, many of the restaurants and bars here are owned and run by Brits who have started a life in the Canary Islands, so even amongst the tapas and sangria, there’s still plenty of fish and chips and beers.

Despite the festive season fast approaching, the weather in Costa Teguise in November is remarkably pleasant thanks to the resorts subtropical climate. Although temperatures tend to cool, and rainfall tends to rise during this month, visitors at this time of year can still expect warm temperatures ranging from 17 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees, sea temperatures of 17 degrees, and low rainfall averaging just 20 mm across the month.

With Christmas just around the corner, spend a day popping into the Costa Teguise shops searching for the perfect gift, or even a souvenir of the trip. Avendia de las Playas, the main street running through the town, is adorned with small shops selling all manner of unique trinkets, and there’s also an array of sporting shops catering to windsurfers in particular. An alternative option is to visit the craft market held every Friday evening at Pueblo Marinero. The stalls here sell everything from handmade jewellery to leather handbags.

The Crown is the place to go for traditional British pub food in gargantuan portions. It’s one of the newer English pubs in Costa Teguise, and has all the signature traits of such; beers and ciders, fish and chips, and football on the televisions. There’s also nightly entertainment. The pub is located close to the Playa Bastian beachfront, so offers spectacular views.

The Barceló Lanzarote Resort hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels in Costa Teguise, having been awarded a 4* rating. It’s considered to be one of the biggest and best choices for families, with three swimming pools for adults, and two dedicated to children. There’s kid’s clubs for those aged between 3 and 15, mini golf, and a rock climbing wall, and for the adults, there’s a relaxing spa Jacuzzi and massage. Rooms cost from £34 per night and feature views of the sea or swimming pools.
